Zigurs appointed new Latvenergo head

RIGA - Aris Zigurs has been appointed as the new board chairman of Latvia's national energy company Latvenergo.

The position became empty earlier this year when the former chairman became was accused of corruption and stripped of his position.

Zigurs is currently head of "Riga Heating", a position he has held since 1995. He has a master's degree in business management and a doctor's degree in engineering.
