Gulbis hits career high

RIGA - Latvian tennis player Ernests Gulbis has reached a career high 26th place after making it to the round of 16 in the Cinncinati "Master's 1000".

Gulbis was defeated by world number four Andy Murray in the tournament. Gulbis now has a total of 1,515 ATP rankings points.

His next tournament will be the U.S. Open championship, which begins on August 30.
