KAUNAS - A judge in Lithuania's second largest city has been dismissed by the president after illegally seizing high-value property.

Former Kaunas City District Court Judge Daiva Meksraitiene was removed from her position after an investigation found she had acted with negligence and breached the law. Due to the legal immunity extended to judges, she cannot be prosecuted.

She is the second judge to be sacked by the president so far this year.
