Latvijas Gaze plans new stock issue

RIGA (BNS) - The council and shareholders of the gas company Latvijas Gaze will hold meetings on Sept. 14 and 15 to decide on the stock issue prospectus for the company's new stock.

Latvijas Gaze's council secretary Janis Slava said the issue prospectus has been completed and accepted by the company's board.

Slava said that after the prospectus is accepted by the council and shareholders, Latvijas Gaze will submit it to the Stock Market Commission.

The company's general meeting resolved on July 1 to increase the company's share capital from 36 million lats ($60 million) to 39.9 million lats issuing stocks in both closed and public emissions. As many as 5.4 million shares in Latvijas Gaze are being offered publicly for privatization vouchers from Aug. 3 to Sept. 25.

After the public offering is completed, the state's share in Latvijas Gaze will be 33.83 percent while the private capital share will be 66.17 percent.
