VILNIUS - The European Commission has pledged one million euros to support the European Humanities University in Vilnius. The EHU is a Belarussian establishment that relocated to Vilnius after facing political pressure because of its curriculum.

The European Commission remains the biggest single donor of EHU with a trust fund of three million euros, and accounts for more than one half of all the funding committed to the Trust Fund.

"With this donation, the EC confirms its support for the work of EHU in educating youth for democratic Belarus”, says Jean-Charles de Cordes, who coordinates the support from Brussels.
