Nine drown over weekend

RIGA - Nine people have drown in Latvia this weekend, raising concerns over water safety in the country.

Among those who died were two children, a 13-year-old boy who died in Jelgava and a 12-year-old girl in Vetera.

It has been an exceptionally dangerous year in Latvia on the water, with more than 30 people having drown so far this season, 14 of them this month alone.
