Murniece survives no-confidence vote

RIGA - Latvia's interior minister will be allowed to remain in her post after narrowly surviving a vote of no-confidence in the country's parliament.

The no-confidence motion against Interior Minister Linda Murniece (New Era), which was submitted by three opposition parties - People's Party, Harmony Center and Latvia's First Party/Latvia's Way.

Forty-eight Saeima members voted for Murniece, 44 voted against and one abstained.
