Latvia bumped from world championships

MANHEIM - Latvia has been eliminated from the IIHF world championship after losing their final group F game to the Czech Republic by a score of 3:1.

Latvia was unable to act on the numerous power plays that they had throughout the game, with the Czech side winning significantly more shots on goal despite being shorthanded for much of the game.

The three best Latvian players of the tournament were recognized as Edgars Masalskis, Arvids Rekis and Herberts Vasiljevs.
