VILNIUS -- The Supreme Administrative Court has decided to allow this weekend's gay pride parade to go ahead despite a lower court suspending the event earlier this week.

The decision came following a complaint from the Lithuanian Gay League about having the first in Lithuania gay parade's permit revoked.

The General Prosecutor asked the Vilnius district court to revoke permission for the parade earlier this week claiming there were possible dangers for the participants and the spectators of the parade -- this despite comments from the police saying everything would be under control.
