Ministers nominated for two posts

RIGA -- Latvia's ruling coalition has nominated two people to fill ministerial posts that were left open when the People's Party, Latvia's latgest political party, pulled out of the ruling coalition.

The coalition will nominate "E.Gulbja laboratorijas" co-owner Didzis Gavars for the vacant health minister's office, and former Welfare Minister Dagnija Stake (Union of Greens and Farmers) as regional development minister. The duties of the still vacant Justice Ministry will continue to be carried out by Defense Minister Imants Liegis (Civic Union).

A vote on the new ministers has been scheduled for May 13.
