KAUNAS -- The Lithuanian The Special Investigation Service has raided the Kaunas municipal government as part of an ongoing effort to stamp out corruption in the country.

The raid comes just days after the SIS arrested four senior members, including the CEO, of a major state run utility company on suspicion of bribery.

Head of the city's energy division under the economy department, Algirdas Vaitiekunas, whose office was raided, has been suspended from duty for six months.
