Repse to retire from politics

RIGA -- Finance Minister and former Prime Minister Einars Repse has announced that he will retire after 23 years of service to the Latvian government.

Repse said he would not be running in the upcoming ėlections, but that he would continue to support New Era, which he was a founding member of.

Repse's spokesman told the Delfi online news portal that the finance minister felt the time had come to retire and that he would be quitting politics altogether.
