RIGA - Latvia’s transport companies didn’t escape the global economic crisis. In fact, shipping is probably one of the first industries to be hit in a downturn, as orders get slashed and buyers pull back from the markets, leaving goods with nowhere to go.In 2009, the volume of commercial freight traffic dropped significantly in comparison to 2008.
