RIGA - Latvia is the only skiing destination in the Baltics. With more than 30 ski resorts, Latvia is far ahead of flat Lithuania, with its milder climate, and Estonia, with its few skiing slopes. Despite the economic crisis this year, the industry had an increase in numbers of visitors, but the prices were down, so in general, the results were at the same level as the previous year.Thanks to a good, snowy winter the last visitors could enjoy the slopes even till the beginning of April.
