VILNIUS -- Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius has urged Parliament to rethink the language spelling law so that the country will be able to properly mourn Polish President Lech Kaczynsk, whorecently died in a plane crash.

The controversial language spelling law has drawn harsh criticism from Polish groups, who often have to make dramatic changes to the spelling of their names for all official documents.

The prime minister said that if the law was changed it would represent proper farewell to Kaczynski.
