KAUNAS - Dozens of people have had to use emergency rescue services in Lithuania in recent days as warm temperatures have caused extensive flooding in some parts of the country.

Ice- and snow-melt have in some areas caused an increase in water levels of two meters.

In the Kaunas region, the towns of Kleboniskis and Radikiai were both particularly badly hit. The regional government has declared a state of emergency for towns along the river.
