British journalist takes Lithuanian merit award

VILNIUS - Prominent British journalist Edward Lucas has been given the Lithuanian medal of merit for his contributions to the country's security.

In addition to holding the first Lithuanian visa - numbered 0001 - after the country regained its independence Lucas worked as an adviser for Lithuania‘s Supreme Council.

His new book, "The New Cold War", analyzes the situation in Lithuania and other post-Soviet countries.
