Gulbis takes first major title

DELRAY BEACH - Latvia's top tennis player, Ernests Gulbis, has won his first major championships, making history as the first Latvian to ever win such a high-level match.

He beat the second-seeded Croatian Ivo Karlovic in the final to achieve his first ever ATP singles title.

Gulbis will get 250 ATP ratings points, taking him into the top 50, as well as USD 75,700 (LVL 39,136) and a brand new "Porsche" automobile for the win.
