TALLINN - Estonia today celebrates the 92nd anniversarry of its independence.

Estonia declared its independence from Russia on February 24, 1918, though more than half of the current territory of the country was at that time controlled by the Soviet Union.

The country was invaded in 1940, after which it was occupied by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union until 1991.
