Thousands turn out for Vilnius run

VILNIUS - Approximately 2300 Lithuanians have taken part in a massive commemorative run to mark the defense of the Vilnius TV tower during the fight to regain independence.

The 9-kilometer race followed part of the city marathon route.

The oldest runner was 88, while the largest group consisted of 837 people. The youngest included an 8-year-old bou from Vilnius.
