Lithuania amends mnor protection law

VILNIUS - The Lithuanian parliament has ammended the Law on the Protection of Minors, eliminating the controversial sections that mentioned homosexuality.

The proposed bill had received widespread criticiam from Western Europe and from human rights groups over sections that were deemed discriminatory.

The bill bans any public discussion that might encourage children to have sex, but does not specifically mention homosexuality.
