Latvenergo Latvia's most valuable company

RIGA - A recent survey has found that Latvenergo is now the country's most valuable company.

The survey - which was carried out by carried out by Kapitals, a prominent Latvian business magazine, the NASDAQ OMX Riga stock exchange, and investment banking company IBS Prudentia - found that Latvenergo's value increased by more than 30 percent to reach 871.3 million, LETA reported.

Mobile telecommunications operator Latvijas Mobilais telefons (LMT) is second on the list and is valued at 489.47 million lats.

LMT was followed by Latvijas Valsts Mezi (Latvian State Forests), railroad company Latvijas Dzelzcels, and gas supplier Latvijas Gaze, respectively.

Last year's most valuable company, Swedbank Latvia, fell to 8th place.
