Unforgettable flight: Bocelli's voice can take everybody up to the sky and even higher

RIGA - Opera music lovers couldn't wish for a better surprise this fall than the upcoming concert by today's most famous Italian tenor, Andrea Bocelli. During the only show in the Baltics, the audience will have the possibility to hear the live performance of songs from his latest album 'Incanto.'
The 'Incanto' was released in the fall of 2008 and has been dedicated to the tenor's 50th anniversary. 'Incanto' reveals Bocelli's great personal affection towards the timeless songs of the Italian people.

The title describes the spell-binding charms and delights of a glorious tradition of song writing and singing. The album presents the most beautiful Italian melodies, such as 'Santa Lucia,' 'Funiculi Funicula,' 'Mamma' and others, many of which were accompanied by the Milan Symphony Orchestra. As always, Bocelli keeps fascinating listeners with his unique, incredibly nuanced voice and delicate synthesis of opera and popular music. 'Incanto' has been favorably acknowledged by critics and by millions of the singer's fans all over the world.

"Into these songs I have put all of my dreams and my goals, both those I have achieved and those I am still striving for. I sing for everyone 's I want the people to hear the music, which made me cry and rejoice, which granted me a reason to live" 's says Bocelli about his latest release.

Bocelli is a singer, composer and song writer. When he was 12 years old, due to an innate disease and trauma he suffered, he became completely blind, but this did not prevent the owner of a unique voice from becoming a world-class star. During his career, he has sold more than 65 million records and performed numerous duos, which later turned into classics of popular music, performing with Celine Dion, Sarah Brightman, Marta Sanchez, Laura Pausini, Kenny G, Christina Aguilera, Steve Wonder, Mario Reyes (Gipsy Kings) and other well-known artists. Numerous Bocelli singles held top positions in the radio charts. Andrea's Best New Artist Grammy nomination in 1999 marked the first time when a classical artist had been nominated in the category in the past 38 years. The album 'Sacred Arias' became his most successful classical album to date, as well as became the biggest selling album by a classical soloist of all time.

It would be fair to say that Andrea Bocelli is the most desirable performer on the world's largest stages. However, he gives just ten concerts per year.
In the summer of 2008, he gave his concert in Lithuania and attracted nearly 20,000 fans. This will be the first time for Bocelli in Latvia, and the organizers are certain that he will get a rousing and very welcoming reception from his many fans. After all, it's not every day that a living musical legend comes to town!

The concert will be held at Mezapark's open-air stage on Sept. 5.
