Former president's cancer struggle

VILNIUS- Former President and former Prime Minister of Lithuania Algirdas Brazauskas has spoken about his fight with lymph nodes cancer. The 76-year-old former politician admitted he has had five sessions of chemotherapy, must drink hormones three times a day and is afraid that the doctors might apply very aggressive measures after four unsuccessful chemotherapies.

Brazauskas had prostate cancer few years ago but he claimed he was cured after 35 sessions of radiology.

Brazauskas was President of Lithuania from 1993 until 1998 as part of the Labor Party and Prime Minister from 2001-2006. His government resigned in May 2006 after the Labor party left the governing coalition.
