TALLINN- Prime Minister of Estonia Andrus Ansip has said that he will resign should a new government coalition be formed.

According to daily Aripaev, Ansip commented on a statement by President Toomas Ilves regarding the policy that a Prime Minister who forms a new coalition should resign. However, Ansip stated that nothing is for certain at the moment.

Ansip also stated that if the Reform Party and Pro Patria-Res Publica Union (IRL) reach an agreement with the People's Union over setting up a new coalition, he would resign.

"There is no guarantee that there will be a new coalition. Therefore, it could be that we will become a minority government. This means that there will not be effectively a new government and a new coalition," said Ansip.
