RIGA- The winner of Latvia's Eurovision song contest, Intars Busulis, has announced he will be singing Russian when performing in Moscow, reported Latvian daily Neatkariga Rita newspaper.
"I read comments on the Internet, and there are different opinions on whether I should sing in Latvian or Russian," said the singer, whose song, "Sastregums" or (Traffic) was originally in Latvian.
"But I am not a cosmopolite; I am a real Latvian patriot. The main thing is that I know what is inside my soul," he said.
Busulis won amongst harsh competition at the national final for the Eurovision song contest.
Out of the ten final songs, the jury and the audience selected three songs for the final. Busulis' song Sastregums (Congestion) won the competition with 21,027 votes.
The Eurovision song contest will be held on May 12-16 in Moscow.
