Vilnitis recommended for KNAB head

RIGA- The Latvian government has decided to recommend Normunds Vilnitis as the candidate for the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau (KNAB) head to the parliament.

Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis had said earlier that he could see Vilnitis as the head of KNAB.

Latvian President Valdis Zatlers and Godmanis called on Vilnitis to meet with parliament factions to convince them about his professionalism and independence.
