Vilnitis recommended for KNAB head

RIGA- The Latvian government has decided to recommendNormunds Vilnitis as the candidate for the Corruption Prevention andCombating Bureau (KNAB) head to the parliament.

Prime Minister Ivars Godmanis had said earlier that he could see Vilnitis as thehead of KNAB.

Latvian President Valdis Zatlers and Godmanis called on Vilnitis to meetwith parliament factions to convince them about his professionalism andindependence.
