VILNIUS- The body of Darius Arbaciauskas, legal secretary to Pranas Kuris Lithuanianjudge at the European Court of Justice has been found by the Meuse River in Namur by Belgian police. He had been declared missing as of mid December 2008.

Arbaciauskas, 40, was last seen on the evening of Dec. 8 as he was leaving the building of the European Court of Justice.

Belgian police announced his search on Dec 19.

Lithuanian police were informed about the missing person by his sister, said Lithuania's Police Department spokeswoman Danute Daunoraviciute.

"Belgian police suspects that he committed suicide. His automobile was found next to a hefty bridge, the river below is full of torrents, the body yet to be found, so the police suspects his body might have been carried on to the Netherlands", Daunoraviciute then said.

Arbaciauskas had been working together with Kuris since 1992, when the latter was appointed Lithuania's Ambassador to Belgium. Arbaciauskas then worked in this country as a consul, with his career later veering towards Paris.
