If two-thirds or more of the participantsin the last Saeima elections participate in the referendum, then it will bevalid.

President Zatlerssubmitted his proposal for amending article 14 of the Latvian constitution sothat one-tenth of the voting population would be able to have a referendum todissolve the Saeima.

As it standshowever, with the overall feeling of disillusionment in the country today, itmay be that Saeima will be dissolved sooner rather than later if two-thirds ofvoters participate.
