VILINIUS - The archbishop of Vilnius, Cardinal Audrius Juozas Backis, was hospitalized reportedly due to recurrent heart problems.
The 77-year-old cardinal underwent surgery on Jan. 15 and received a heart stimulator, a church official was reported by the Baltic News Service as saying.
The cardinal is reportedly doing well and is scheduled to be released from the hospital on Friday.
The cardinal was previously hospitalized over heart palpitations for afew days in Sept. Doctors then applied electroshock therapy for an irregular heart beat.
