VILNIUS- A Lithuanian teacher from Visaginas has been fined and prosecuted for insulting President Adamkus.

The teacher, 25, had sent the president an email cursing at him for his support of U.S. President George Bush and telling him to go back to Chicago.

Although the email never reached Adamkus, the teacher is still being fined 3,250 litas for attempting to insult a state servant.

Maximum penalties could have included two years imprisonment.  The teacher tried to explain his actions saying he had been drunk at the time of writing the email.
