TALLINN - A report released by the World Wildlife Foundation on Wednesday has found that Estonia is one of the world's top 10 polluters on a per capita basis.

The report, seen as a leading statement on the planet's health, shows the United Arab Emirates as having the largest footprint. Next in the Top 10 come the United States, Kuwait, Denmark, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Norway, Estonia and Ireland, in that order.

Estonia has scored poorly in similar reports also inprevious years, mainly as a result of the use of oil shale to produce most of the country's electricity.

An ecological footprint measures the amount of resources humans use and the waste they generate.
