The ESPAD 2007 international study has found that teenage drug use steadily increased over the past year.
Four years earlier 24 percent of respondents admitted having used narcotics, the National Institute for Health Development said.
Some 34 percent of respondents found that cannabis was easily obtainable and 26 percent reported that ecstasy was easy to obtain. Both figures represent a sharp increase over a similar study conducted in 2003.
The health institute is set to launch a campaign aimed at reducing young people's interest in experimenting with illicit drugs.
