Drunk Russian swims border

TALLINN-Estonian authorities are baffled by the case of a45 year-old Russian man found drunk after swimming across the border illegallyinto the Schengen zone.

Claiming to have lost his passport, the man, in trying to getback to his home in Sillamae, an Estonian border town, swam across the riverNarva in hopes of getting across.

The 150 meter wide river separates Russia from Estonia and abridge serves as border control point.

The majority of those in the town of Narva along the river areRussian speakers who cross the border daily for shopping or work on the otherside.

The man will not be prosecuted but may be slapped with a finefor illegally crossing the border zones say officials.
