Even after not scoring a single goal in thechampionship games against both the U.S. and Canada in Halifax, Nova Scotia over the weekend, fans still have hope.

The final score for the USA and Canadagames were 4-0 and 7-0 respectively with Canada scoring three goals in the first six minutes.

In the match against Canada, the Latvian players were wearing retro jerseys of the Latvian team in1933-1939. Hundreds of fans were out in Riga to watch the 2am game against the U.S. only to wreck mild havoc on the streets early morning after thedefeat.

Canadian goalie Pascal Leclaire was namedthe most valuable player for the game (not surprisingly) and Latvian forward MikelisRedlihs was named MVP for the game as well.

Latvia has to end up third in Group B in order not turn up in therelegation round.
