ASTANA - Estonia's former President Arnold Ruutel is in Kazakhstan discussed development of bilateral economic relations with President Nursultan Nazarbayev and suggested that Kazakh businesspeople use Estonia as a point of transit.
"Estonia has modern ports and we can offer transit services to Kazakhstan," Ruutel said.
Ruutel told reporters after the meeting today that he believes Kazakh businesspeople have a large interest in transporting oil, grain, metal and other goods through Estonia, the Kazinform news agency reported.
He also noted that that Estonian construction companies are interested in projects in the Kazakh capital Astana.
