Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas has been informed about the incident following the discovery of the bug on March 5.
The minister's spokeswoman Rasa Eilunaviciene told BNS that the minister described the revelation as "unpleasant," but joked that it would simply reveal "how manygood deeds were being done for patients."
The device was found by specialists from the Communication RegulationService. "I can only confirm the fact. We found and removed the source ofinterference," said Deputy Director of the service Romualdas Leonavicius.
The incident will be investigated by law enforcementagencies, but no details have been released concerning who might have placed the bug in a meeting room adjacent to the minister's office.
