AIRPORTS - Renovation opens gates to growth

VILNIUS - Tallinn and Vilnius must bow down. Riga is the undisputed king of the Baltics 's when it comes to airports, at least.With an average of 70 flights per day connecting to 59 cities, Riga International Airport tops the list as the gateway for travel abroad. What's more, a comparison of statistics from the international airports in the Baltic capitals shows that Riga's airport has by far the fastest growth in the number of passengers. Within the first 10 months of this year more than 2.7 million passengers came through Riga, a 27.1 percent increase over the same period of 2006...
