RIGA -'s A bomb scare interrupted the work of the Estonian embassy in Riga for several hours on Nov. 13, the Estonian Foreign Ministry confirmed.
A telephone call about a bomb in the embassy was received from an unidentified person at noon. The Omega special forces unit searched the building as a precaution, but no bomb was found and the embassy was declared safe by police.
A criminal investigation is likely to be launched into the incident, police said.
The hoax is estimated to have cost Latvian taxpayers around 500 lats (710 euros) in total, according to the police.
