RIGA - Phone executives made wine all day at the SAS Radisson Daugava on Jan. 19. There were no purple feet from trouncing grapes, but the execs did check on their vinyard, water the grapes, bottle and distribute their squeezings and fermentations using Nokia 7110 mobile phones marketed by the Finnish telecommunications company.

The phones have a microbrowser that can connect to Nokia's server to perform the grape conversions and get feedback. The play and work day at the Raddison in Riga centered on Nokia's celebration of its birth on Jan. 5, 1995. The day marked also the renaming of Nokia Oy, Nokia's Latvian subsidiary as SIA Nokia Latvija as of Jan. 5. The renamed company will be headed by Petteri Tamminen, previously action sales manager within SIA Nokia Communications.
