Russians ratify border treaty

MOSCOW - The Latvian Foreign Ministry has described itself as "gratified" by the 19 Sep. decision of the Russian Parliament Federation Council to ratify the border treaty between Latvia and the Russian Federation.

The Latvia-Russia border treaty was signed on 27 March, and the Saeimaratified it on 17 May. The border treaty was ratified by the RussianParliament State Duma on 5 September.

It now only remains for President Putin to sign the ratification law and them, once documents have been exchanged, the border will be established in international law.
