Lithuania to host energy summit

VILNIUS - Lithuania is to host an international summit conference on energy in Vilnius, Oct. 10-11.

August 31 the president's office has announced a tender on provision of conference services, the official gazette Valstybes Zinios reported.

The conference is expected to be attended by state or government leaders from Azerbaijan, Georgia, the UK, Kazakhstan, Poland, Moldova, France, Turkmenistan and Lithuania.

Arrangements for the conference will be launched finalised in early October.

The likely agenda of the forum includes EU common energy policy, cross-border projects and energy independence challenges. A similar event was held in Krakow, Poland last May.
