RIGA - Latvian Prime Minister Aigars Kalvītis met Justice of the Supreme Court of the USA Samuel Alito, July 3 to discuss ongoing co-operation between the two countries in the legal sphere.
Kalvitis reportedly thanked the U.S. for providing support in strengthening Latvia's own justice system before discussing how they could combat corruption, drug dealing and crimes against children.
Judge Alito was sworn in as the 110thjustice of the U.S. Superme court in January after one of the most controversial confirmation procedures in recent American history, being viewed by some as a political appointee of President George W Bush.
