Kalvitis talks justice with Alito

RIGA - Latvian Prime Minister Aigars Kalvītismet Justice of the Supreme Court of the USA Samuel Alito, July 3 todiscuss ongoing co-operation between the two countries in the legalsphere.

Kalvitis reportedly thanked the U.S. for providingsupport in strengthening Latvia's own justice system beforediscussing how they could combat corruption, drug dealing and crimesagainst children.

Judge Alito was sworn in as the 110thjustice of the U.S. Superme court in January after one of the mostcontroversial confirmation procedures in recent American history,being viewed by some as a political appointee of President George WBush.
