Riga landmark gets stamped

STRALSUND 's Riga's iconic House of the Blackheads features on a new set of commemorative stamps produced in collaboration with UNESCO and the Latvian postal service.

Latvia's Ambassador to Germany, Dr Martins Virsis, participated in a launch event for the stamps, which celebrate the shared Hanseatic heritage of Latvia and Germany and are titled UNESCO World Cultural Heritage 's Riga, Stralsund, Wismar.

The stamps show images of the House of the Blackheads in Riga, Stralsund Town Hall, and St George's Church in Wismar.

The limited edition will be available to buy from 12 July in post offices throughout Latvia and Germany.
