In spite of the worries from Vilnius and Minsk officials, the rock music festival "Be2gether" will take place at Castle Norviliskes near the Belarusian border at the end of August as scheduled.
Problems concerning the security of the participants in the festival were discussed at Wednesday's meeting of the parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee, which was also attended by Interior Minister Raimondas Sukys.
According to the Lietuvos Rytas daily, the Interior Ministry was having doubts whether security of participants will be ensured during the event, if the borderland regime and public order rules will be followed.
The festival is scheduled to take place on the grounds of Castle Norviliskes in the Salcininkai district in late August. Over 20 famous performers and bands from the US, Europe, Russia, Belarus and Lithuania should perform for three days at the 50 hectare venue.
Some 15-20 thousands of visitors are expected to arrive.
