A German businessman, Anton Tunyla, started a news portal in Lithuania under a different name after a regional court imposed a temporary ban on use of the delfi trademark that he had hoped to use. The court banned use of delfis.lt since it resembles the current delfi.lt. Tunyla, in turn, opened his portal under delfinas.lt, which has been registered at the State Patent Bureau by the publishing group Respublikos Leidiniai, a publishing group that prints dailies such as Respublika and the tabloid Vakaro Zinios and Vakru Ekspresas.

France's Bouygues, a construction, transport and media giant currently building a sports and entertainment arena in Kaunas, expressed interest in joining the construction project of Lithuania's new nuclear power plant. Company executives discussed participation with Prime Minister Gediminas Kirkilas on May 3. Bouygues may submit proposals on the design, construction, maintenance and even running of the new plant.
