A search is underway for the prominent Lithuanian entrepreneur Stanislovas Jucius who went missing this week in the Russian territory of Kaliningrad.

Lithuanian's General Consul in Kaliningrad Viktoras Baublys told BNS that every competent institution was engaged in the search for the businessman.

"We have engaged everyone we possibly could. Today officers are viewing video records made by cameras at the place where the meeting of the businessman and his driver was to take place," the general consul said.

One of the videos shows a car and driver arriving to pick up Jucius at a meeting point, however the businessman cannot be seen in the footage.

According to Baublys, Jucius was missing on Wednesday April 18 after failing to arrive at a meeting in southern Kaliningrad.

Jucius is the founder and president of the Lithuanian Business People's Club, the CEO of construction company Roslitstroj, and a director of Jupojos, a company involved with truck repair and technology.

Baublys has meet with Kaliningrad's Governor Georgy Boos and asked him to facilitate the search investigation and to urge the law enforcement agencies to take every action possible to find the Lithuanian entrepreneur.

Jucius has been announced missing on local TV.
