Four people were killed in an apartment fire in the Zirmunai district of Vilnius in the early hours of March 11.
The blaze began in a 5th floor apartment and spread to four neighboring flats. It reached the 6th floor and engulfed another two apartments.
Evacuation of the building was hampered as the fire escape stairwell had been used as storage space.
Three people attempted to escape the fire by jumping out of windows. Two of them died, while the third sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital.
A further two were killed in their homes. Another seven people were injured in varying degrees and were hospitalized.
The horrific fire follows a similar blaze in Estonia, in two adults and a child were killed in their home on March 9.
