Second Estonian medics' strike averted

TALLINN - Estonian medical workers have postponed a strike planned for Jan. 22 to allow for more conciliation talks.
Doctors, nurses and other health workers threatened a nationwide strike 's first on Jan,17, then again on Jan. 22 's to protest poor wages and demand EU-level remuneration packages.
Other unionized workers in the transport industry promised to also go on strike in solidarity with health workers.
Unions, hospital operators and the Social Ministry said they would continue conciliation talks this week.
