Lithuanian and Latvian foreign ministers to meet in Palanga

VILNIUS - The Lithuanian and Latvian foreign ministers will have an informal meeting in the Lithuanian seaside resort of Palanga on today [Jan 5].
The meeting is planned to address bilateral relations and dealings with neighbors, the priorities of Germany's EU presidency, other EU and NATO matters, the Foreign Ministry has reported.
Lithuania's and Latvia's foreign ministers will also discuss possibilities to achieve the goals set in the communique of Oct. 5, 2006 on cross-border cooperation with maximum efficiency.
The communique stresses that the Lithuania-Latvia intergovernmental commission for cross-border cooperation should resume its activities, consider the problems related with the formalities of crossing the border and find solutions to them as soon as possible.
